| The Port Polnocny (Northern Port).
The terminals in this part of the port make up a self contained, deepwater, bulk cargo port of a high world standard and are able to serve ships to 150,000 DWT and a draft of 15.0m. At present there are two terminals operating in the Port Polnocny as follows: Coal terminal: This is fully mechanised, with a daily handling rate of 50,000t and storage yard of 600,000t capacity. This terminal is also equipped with loader stackers, coal conveying system and weight conveyors. In the winter , the unloading of wagons (wagon tipplers) is supported by the cargo defrosting system.
Fuel terminal: The largest in the Baltic Sea. The services offered by this terminal invilve in export and import the handling of the following fuels: crude oil, gasoline, heavy fuel oil & gas oil. The closed system technology of the cargo handling is safe for the enviroment. The terminal is equipped with adequate fire safety and anti-spillage system, as well as a ballast water treatment plant and cleaning facilities. There are two stands for ships up to 150,000 DWT and with max draft of up to 15,0 m. Max. loading/discharging rates amount to 10,000 m3/h per each stand. The terminal is linked by pipelines to refineries in Gdansk, Plock, also Germany and the countries of the former USSR. Its handling capacity reaches a level of 100,000tpd.
