On the 27th and 28th of June the Navy Air Force Brigade airport in Gdynia - Babie Doly will host a naval air show. It was designed as part of the celebrations of the Navy's 80th anniversary. Organisers of the show are the Polish Navy and International Gdansk Fairs. It is expected that about 200,000 visitors will come to Air Show '98.
This year, apart from Polish pilots, aeroplanes and helicopters, viewers will be able to see pilots and planes from the USA (F/A-18 Hornet), Germany (Tornado, Sea King, Atlantic, Do-228), Great Britain (Harrier), Sweden (JAS 39 Grippen, JA 97 Viggen), and France (Super Etendard, Mirage 2000).Moreover, there will be aerobatics performed by representatives from Holland, Denmark and Russia. The greatest attraction accompanying the show will be the aircraft carrier of the British Royal Navy which will carry planes of vertical take-off and as well as helicopters of the British naval air forces. The carrier will be moored at Nabrzeze Francuskie in Gdynia. The organisers of Air Show '98 have prepared an over-three-hour programme of aerobatics, group and individual flying, and parachute jumping. The show will be accompanied by an international exposition of planes and aero-equipment and shows of gliders, balloons, and hang gliders. | ||||
